Two signup methods are used in email marketing: single opt-in and double opt-in. Both ways are easy and widely used to collect new contact information to enlarge your audience.
In this case, we prepared a workflow where the contact receives an email and has to confirm their signup, unlike the single opt-in, where the information is saved in your contact list without subsequent confirmation. Therefore, the double opt-in method helps you avoid many random errors and invalid email addresses. Besides, some customers may choose double opt-in to comply with particular countries' strict regulations.
This workflow contains 4 blocks.
The first block is the event trigger. The event will be triggered when the contact fills out the signup form on your website.
The second block is the email template. It will be sent following the event. This email is to ask your contact to confirm the email. It can also be used to welcome or to thank for registration.
The third block is the email template trigger. This block is designed to check whether the contact clicks the confirmation link after receiving the opt-in confirmation email.
And the last block is "Update variable." The customer will be added to the contact list if the email address is confirmed.
