Mistakes while importing the contact

This article explains the possible issues encountered during the contact import process in Wooxy, such as duplicates, unsubscribed contacts, incorrect file formats, and syntax errors that may prevent contacts from being added to the audience. It is important to note that email addresses must not begin or end with a period or hyphen and must contain exactly one "@" character before the domain name.

    • Correct import procedure - adherence to the specific steps of the chosen import method, as outlined in the guide, is required for success.
    • Empty cells - sometimes, an error occurs due to empty cells. To resolve this issue, simply copy the table headers and their values, paste them into a new file, and then import them.
    • Supported file types - ensuring that the uploaded file is in .CSV or .XLS format when using the Upload File option.
    • File size limits - splitting files larger than 25 MB into several smaller documents to avoid import errors.
    • Formatting compatibility - reformatting files exported from other ESPs to meet Wooxy requirements before attempting an import.
    • Delimiter issues - replacing semi-colons with commas in .CSV or .XLS files, as the system does not support semi-colon separators.
    • Email syntax completeness - verifying that every email address contains a local part, the "@" symbol, a domain, and a top-level domain (e.g., .com).
    • Space removal - eliminating extra spaces within the local part or domain of an email address to ensure system recognition.
    • Character restrictions - removing unsupported punctuation (e.g., !, ?, parentheses) and limiting special characters to allowed sections of the email address.
    • Character count limits - ensuring email addresses do not exceed 64 characters before the "@", 63 characters between "@" and the dot, or 64 characters in the top-level domain.
    • Duplicate management - resolving duplicate email addresses by either fixing the source file or using the Skip and continue button to import only one instance.
    • Alphabet requirements - using only Latin letters and numbers for email addresses, with a strict requirement for Latin-only characters in the top-level domain.
    • Variable formatting - matching variables to existing Wooxy fields or creating new ones if the original format (e.g., non-camelCase) is not recognized.
    • Phone number standards - formatting all phone numbers according to the E.164 format (e.g., +14155552671) without spaces, Cyrillic, or special characters.
