SMS log

This article describes how to use and manage the SMS log, including details on all available parameters and metrics.

Things to know before starting

  • Template data for previewing is unavailable for messages with "failed" or "reject" statuses.
  • Template preview data in the SMS Log is retained for three days.
  • SMS Log analytics are retained for 3 months.
  • SMS Log reports are generated and aggregated in real-time.
  • Log parameters are displayed based on the account's designated time zone.

SMS log management

  • Navigate to the "Analytics" section.

  • Click the "Message Logs" button.

  • Choose the “SMS” tab.

  • Application of filters followed by clicking the “Search” button to refresh data.

  • Export data to XLSX or PDF using the “Create Export Task” button; exported data is aligned with the account's time zone.

  • Use of the “SMS preview” button to inspect the rendered content.

  • Access to sending details via the “Info” button.

  • Direct access to contact profiles by clicking identifiers (available only for contacts in the Default Contact List).

SMS log parameters and metrics

  • Filters
    Icon caret
    • Domain - the domain name from the “From email” address; allows filtering reports by a specific domain if multiple are active.
    • Contact - the contact's identifier, either a phone number or a system-specific ID, used for investigation.
    • Origin - a filter to generate reports based on up to 5 items from categories like Campaigns, Automations, A/B tests, or registered Tags (searchable by name or ID).
    • Date range - a selector for a specific time period to generate reports containing data only from the defined dates.
  • Parameters

    • Status - the delivery state of the SMS: Sent (queued for sending), Delivered (successful), Failed (operator or system failure), Reject (blocked due to blacklists, filters, spam, or invalid sender ID), Queued (awaiting final status from the operator), or Undelivered (invalid phone number).
    • Template - the title of the sent SMS, accompanied by the sending date and time according to the account’s time zone.
    • From name - the sender's display name as it appears on the recipient’s device.
    • To - recipient identifiers, including their phone number, email address, and internal system UserID.
    • Clicks - statistics on link interactions, showing which contacts clicked and the total number of clicks to measure engagement.
  • Details

    • Message ID - the unique identifier of the sent message.
    • Status - the delivery state of the message: delivered, undelivered, rejected, failed, queued, or new.
    • Message type - the communication category: Campaign, Automation, API (Send/Triggered), System notification, or A/B test.
    • Template / Automation / Campaign - the specific name and ID of the resource or workflow used for the mailing.
    • Variant - the name of the A/B test version and its status (e.g., "Winner") if already determined.
    • Iteration - the sequence number for recurring or replayed campaigns.
    • Resend - the date and time of a manually duplicated message; the option becomes unavailable once a resend is executed.
    • From name - the sender's display name as it appears on the recipient’s device.
    • Tags - custom or system labels (Workflow names, API tags, or reporting criteria) used for categorization and aggregated reports.
