Viber campaigns

This article describes how to create a Viber campaign using various advanced options.

Things to know before starting

  • Recipients must be subscribed to the Viber channel within the Contact List.
  • Only moderation-approved templates are available for selection in campaigns.
  • Clear and concise campaign names are recommended to simplify future searches.
  • Accounts in Trial mode are limited to sending up to 50 Viber messages per day.
  • Contacts with country codes not supported by the selected or default Sender Name are excluded from delivery and cost calculations.
  • Available messaging channels depend on the active subscription plan
  • The default contact list is automatically pre-selected during campaign creation.
  • Selecting the same segment for both delivery and exclusion results in a "Failed" status.
  • Campaigns with "Running" or "Done" statuses cannot be stopped or edited.
  • Copied campaigns are automatically saved with a "Draft" status.
  • Scheduled and recurring launches are delivered according to the recipient's time zone, using the {{contactTimezone}} variable; otherwise, the account's time zone is used.
  • Scheduling campaigns at least 24 hours in advance is strongly advised to ensure delivery across all time zones.
  • A maximum of 3 tags can be added per campaign.

Step-by-step instructions

  • Navigate to the "Outbound" section.

  • Click the "Campaigns" button.

  • Click the "Create" button.

  • Specify campaign title and select target contact list.

  • Select the segment if necessary. Campaigns are sent only to contacts that match the segment rules.

  • Use "Add filter" to create one-time segments for a specific campaign. These conditions are not saved in the general segment list. Filtering rules can be modified via the "Edit" button or removed using the "Bin" icon.

  • Exclude specific segments to prevent delivery to certain contact groups. One-time exclusion filters can also be applied here.

  • Select the Viber channel, then choose the preferred template from the dropdown menus.

  • Select a pre-approved Viber template from the list; only templates that have passed moderation are available.

  • Use the preview feature to verify how the template will render on a contact's device.

  • Choose a Sender Name from the dropdown menu; if no custom name is registered, the Default Sender Name is selected automatically.

  • Define the TTL (Time to Live) for the messages.

  • Open "Advanced settings" to add or remove tags for organizing analytics reports.

  • Proceed via the "Next step" button to select the campaign launch type.

  • Review the summary table for all campaign details before final submission.

  • Click the “Launch campaign” button.
